Tariff Reduction Extended on Butter and AMF into Taiwan
Thursday, 27/8/09
As the economy has not yet fully recovered the Taiwan administration has announced a decision to extend its unilateral tariff reductions on butter and milk fat imports for a further six months, to 18 February 2010.
This is good news for New Zealand exporters, as New Zealand is the number one supplier of butter to Taiwan with 69% market share, and follows on from an extension of the milk powder tariff reductions in May of this year. The tariff reduction has, however, been adjusted from previously a 50% cut down to a more limited 25% cut. Resulting tariff levels applying up to 18 February 2010 are 3.75% for butter (HS Code 04051000) and 6% for anhydrous milk fat (HS Code 04059010).
