New Zealand - Taiwan Working Holiday Scheme

Friday, 10/3/06

Apply now to take part in New Zealand and Taiwan's working holiday scheme.
Each year up to 600 Taiwanese passport holders between the ages of 18 and 30 are able to travel to New Zealand for a working holiday stay of up to 12 months. And up to 600 young New Zealanders are also eligible for working holiday visas to visit Taiwan.

Taiwanese passport holders interested in this scheme should direct all enquiries to the New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office's Visa Unit[external link] .

Information in English can also be found on the New Zealand Immigration Service[external link] .

New Zealand passport holders interested in this scheme should contact the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office[external link] in New Zealand.

Taiwan is one of the few places in Asia where New Zealand passport holders can combine their Working Holiday experience with Mandarin language study. In Taipei, the Working Holiday Taiwan Service Centre WHTSC[external link] has been established by the Taiwanese authorities and Taiwan's National Youth Commission to provide orientation programs, job-search facilities and other related services, designed to help Working Holiday Makers find work, enroll in language study or simply to get out there on the road meeting the locals and exploring the island.

WHTSC also has information on related scholarships[external link]. And if you're a local or foreign business operator in Taiwan, contact WHTSC for help in filling staff shortages on a short-term basis.
