Taiwan Recognises New Zealand Organic Standards as Equivalent

New Zealand is among the first countries in the world to have its organic standards recognised as equivalent by authorities in Taiwan.
The Council of Agriculture has announced equivalence for the New Zealand Food Safety Authority’s Official Organic Programme including specific requirements for the Taiwan market. Under Taiwan’s new organic labelling regulations which came into effect on 29 January 2009, all agricultural products, including imported products, that are labelled or sold as “organic” are required to conform to the new certification requirements.
