Moira Turley was appointed Director of the New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office in Taipei in March 2017.
Moira has been Deputy Head of Mission in New Zealand’s Embassies in Manila and in Ankara.
Immediately prior to her secondment to the NZCIO, Moira worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s head office in Wellington managing a team focused on New Zealand’s relationships with South and South East Asia.
Moira has considerable experience in trade and political issues in South and South East Asia and the Middle East, and has worked in a broad range of areas including economic policy, communications and human resources. Early in her career she undertook secondments to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the New Zealand Foreign Minister’s office.
Moira attended the University of Canterbury, studying English literature and law.
Moira is currently enjoying exploring Taipei with her young family, and challenging herself to learn Mandarin.
