What the NZCIO doesThe New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office (NZCIO) in Taipei is responsible for the pursuit and development of New Zealand’s trade, economic and cultural interests with Taiwan.In the absence of diplomatic relations, the NZCIO is established as a subsidiary of the Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce. It is staffed by officers either employed directly by the NZCIO or seconded from relevant New Zealand departments and agencies. The NZCIO is headed by the Director and comprises two units: The Economic and General Affairs Unit, which is responsible for ANZTEC implementation, trade and economic policy, cultural and indigenous connections, and consular services; The New Zealand Trade Development Centre, which assists New Zealand companies doing business in Taiwan.
